Apple Pie Fritters

Makes 4-8 Servings


Ingredients:

1 Carton Little Debbie Apple Pies

1 Cup All Purpose Flour

1 Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon

1/4 Teaspoon Salt

2 Teaspoons Nutmeg

1 Tablespoon Granulated Sugar

2 Large Eggs

1/3 Cup Milk

1 Tablespoon Butter, melted

1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Vegetable Oil for Frying

Powdered Sugar, topping


Supplies:

Large Stock Pot, Dutch Oven or Deep Fryer


Directions:

  1. Unwrap four Little Debbie Apple Pies.
  2. Cut pies into bite-sized pieces and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk eggs. Add milk, vanilla and cooled melted butter. Continue whisking until all ingredients are combined.
  4. In medium bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg.
  5. Add dry ingredients to wet and mix until a loose dough is formed. Fold in apple pie pieces.
  6. Fill frying pan with 3-4 cups of oil. Heat oil over medium until it reaches 375-degrees.
